Spb Mobile Shell Review

Spb Contacts
One of the big complaints I have about my Pocket PC Phone is the inability to easily lookup contacts with one hand. Spb Mobile Shell solves that problem in a nice way with Spb Contacts. The Spb Contacts screen is so much better for one-handed looking up of contacts that it's hard to imagine my Pocket PC without it now.

Spb Contacts presents you with a split screen of your contacts list and a phone keypad. The keypad is used to search your contacts. For example, by pressing the numbers 7-9-2, I can find everyone named Ryan in my contacts. Awesome!

Task Manager
Spb Mobile Shell includes a task manager that is easily launched with a soft key, or through the Launcher. This is a fantastic and much needed application. One suggestion I have would be that after switching to an application from the task manager, the task manager needs to close. After closing an application that was switched to from the task manager, the task manager is still there and you then have to close the task manager too. That's not so hot.

Suggestions
I have already made a couple of suggestions for future releases of Spb Mobile Shell but I have just a few more. I'd like the ability to edit the Launcher so I have more control over where things go. I'd also like to be able to create a full page of Speed Dial keys that could be assigned to a soft key or launched from an icon in the Launcher. A full page of Weather reports would also be nice so we could see more than one city at a time. With Spb Software House's excellent programming and design skills I'm sure they could create a replacement phone dialer that would look and function better than the built-in version.

Conclusions
I would highly recommend Spb Mobile Shell to anyone who wants better one handed operation of their PDA, and frankly, anyone who just wants their Pocket PC Phone to look good. It is simple, flexible, powerful, and gorgeous! This one is a "must have" for any Treo 700wx owner and definitely for any MDA or XV6700 user. It is an obvious choice for the pdaBlast! Top Pick Award. Great job Spb!
